The UK's first online consumer opinions platform, dooyoo.co.uk, celebrates its first month online with the registration of its 3000th member. People up and down the country are clicking onto www.dooyoo.co.uk at a rate of 250 users per day to write their opinions on anything from films, sports equipment and cameras to their own home town and regional landmarks.
Whilst dooyoo.co.uk itself remains totally unbiased and detached from the opinions expressed by consumers, it always seeks opinions on controversial topics. This week people are being asked about what they really think of the Greenwich Millennium Dome. The survey and the reviews are updated daily to give Britain's most current voice on the subject and the results will be published next month.
The Millennium Dome survey is part of The City Guide, the 12th category to come online since dooyoo.co.uk's launch on May 16th. Other categories include: Music, Computers, Travel, Clubbing, Electronics, Motoring, Games, Media, and Sports. The number of categories is constantly being expanded.
Reviewers are always rewarded for posting up their opinions on the website and for participating in the community. Registering is free and a member is paid dooyoo miles, which are redeemable at high street shops. Alternatively, charitable donations can be made to an elected charity. Every time another member reads that opinion the author gets paid again, rather like a royalty. Members also get paid for every opinion they rate.
dooyoo.co.uk is part of a European network of dooyoos. The concept has spread like wildfire throughout Germany, France, Italy and Spain generating in excess of 14 million page impressions per month. Jules Pancholi, CEO of dooyoo.co.uk says: "dooyoo is already the 7th most popular website in Germany and it is proving particularly useful for anyone buying consumer goods. It looks as if we in Britain are embracing the chance to have our say as well."
